ST. LOUIS BLUES – Roger Williams

ST. LOUIS BLUES – Roger Williams

Roger was classically trained, but also studied jazz at Juilliard with Teddy Wilson and Lennie Tristano. Here he enjoys playing the “Saint Louis Blues” (“St. Louis Blues”) with his band members who shared solos: Ed Finn on guitar, Michael George on bass, Gary Nesteruk on synth, David Johnson on percussion, and Jimmy Carnelli on drums. W. C. Handy composed this popular American song and published it in September 1914. It is one of the first blues songs to succeed as a pop song and remains a fundamental part of jazz musicians’ repertoire. Website: https://rogerwilliamsmusic.com
