With the 21st overall pick at the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, the Columbus Blue Jackets selected, from Avangard Omsk of the KHL, Yegor Chinakhov.
Chinakhov was the first overager taken at the 2020 NHL Draft, and there hadn’t been another one taken until the end of the second round.
